Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and connect them to the appropriate care.
Mainly offered to individuals who live or work in McLean County, each participant leaves the course with a local resource and support packet. This affordable, full-day training may change the way you think about mental illness. Whether you are supporting a loved one or working with individuals who may have mental health challenges, you should leave this course understanding how to apply the ALGEE action plan:
Assess for risk of suicide or harm
Listen nonjudgmentally
Give reassurance and information
Encourage appropriate professional help
Encourage self-help and other support strategies
This event will be held at the E-Free Church, 2910 E Lincoln St, Bloomington, IL
